El 19 de Marzo de 1940, cincuenta bombarderos británicos atravesaron el mar del Norte para bombardear una base alemana en Hornum, en la isla de Sylt. Las instalaciones alemanas no sufrieron ningún daño, porque por un error de un navegante, acabaron bombardeando Bornholm, una isla danesa en el mar Báltico. Mar equivocado, isla equivocada, país equivocado.

1940, 19th March, fifty british bombers crossed the North sea to bomb a geman base in Hornum, in the Sylt island. The german installations didn’t suffered any damage, because an error of a navigator, they bombed Bornholm, and danish island in the Baltic sea. Wrong sea, wrong island, word country.

    The claim that any RAF plane went to Bornholm that night is only supported by reading one planes flight logs.

    I think rather, he was got split off on his own, and resorting to navigating for himself, he turned to the wrong page in his maps, and used the map of Bornholm to navigate the coast of the Netherlands. When writing what he did, he recorded the location he thought he was at on the map of Bornholm.

    There are a few rectangular islands around, Romo and Fohr for example. These might be mistaken for Bornholm.
